BRACE Acrylic, Hypodermic Needles and Swarovski Crystals
Brace is a neckpiece made of hundreds of hypodermic needles adorned with Swarovski Crystals.
The piece is designed to represent the restrcitions that medical equipment can place on the body to support it after injury and counteract any alternative adaptions the body might try to make.
The hypodermic needles of the brace pass through the acrylic collar to slightly scratch the skin of the wearer highlighting the pain and restricted movement that might be felt after sustaining a neck injury.
Lungs Latex, Acrylic and Stainless Steel
Lungs looks at the effects the environment can have on the body and how this can lead to adaptions and mutations.
The piece highlights the rise in the percentge of Asthma sufferers and how this might be linked to cleaning products or alternatively inflamation from weight gain.
Designed to be hard to breath in the piece's lungs rise and fall slowly as the wearer struggles with the effects an asthmatic might face.
